Purpose: This guide explains how to import an Outlook PST file into a personal Gmail account using Google Workspace Migration for Microsoft Outlook (GSMMO). It outlines the steps required to successfully transfer your email data from the PST file into Gmail.


  1. Download your copy of your original PST file that was sent to you
  2. Download and install Google Workspace Migration for Microsoft Outlook (GSMMO - Download Link: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gsmmo/#).
  3. Open the Google Workspace Migration for Microsoft Outlook application

  4. Enter the Gmail email address that you’d like to migrate your emails into.






5. Select Allow on the page that asks if you want to allow Google Workspace Migration for Microsoft Outlook to access your Google Account




6. Select Migrate all data, then from the drop down, select From PST File(s)




7. Select your downloaded PST > Select Open

8. Select Next




9. Select Migrate





10. You will see a progress bar appear that displays how many emails have been transferred to your Gmail




11. Once complete, you will see a new folder in Gmail called export.pst




You can rename the file like so: 

11a. Select the three dots next to export.pst





11b. Select Edit







11c. Name the label > Select Save





11d. Verify that the folder name has changed
